Reason #1 you don’t want to miss attending the Ultimate Pitching Coaches Boot Camp in Houston Texas-

Mike Marshall

The Most Outspoken and Controversial Man in Baseball is ONLY going to be heard in a very few select places in 2007…and You are invited for a front row seat at the fireworks show! But do not delay. The seats are already filling up Fast! There are less than 100 left!

On Dec 7-9th 2007 we will be holding our 7th Annual Pitching Symposium in Houston Texas.  One of this years keynote speakers is Mike Marshall.

This brilliant, blunt, candid and straightforward man takes no prisoners. His approach is a no holds barred, in your face, practical genius. Marshall is certainly no shrinking violet.
The last two years the event has sold out by Dec 1st.

Is Your Pitcher S.I.C.K? Does he have Scapular Rotator Dysfunction? How would you even know?  Is He at Risk Unnecessarily? Does He Have G.I.R.D? Glenohumeral Internal-Rotation Deficit… What simple, easy things can you do to protect your pitchers?

With injury rates at an all time high for pitchers
…How important would it be for you to keep your #1 & #2 pitchers on the bump this entire season?

Reason #2 you don’t want to miss attending the Ultimate Pitching Coaches Boot Camp in Houston Texas-

Phil Donley

Consider this discussion by Dr. David Lintner, Houston Astros Head Physician.
In most throwers the scapula moves in an abnormal way. This occurs because of the repetitive use of the shoulder, and the changes that develop in any muscle that is used strenuously again and again. However, these changes are detrimental to shoulder function and can increase the chances of injury.  Another very common condition in throwers is contracture / tightness of the shoulder capsule on the back portion (posterior) of the shoulder. This is very common in throwers, and contributes to the SICK Scapula problem. Lifting weights, particularly chest exercises such as bench press, can aggravate this condition.  The athlete with “SICK Scapula Syndrome” will hold the affected shoulder lower than the other and also rotated forward. This looks like a slouched position, but with one shoulder more slouched than the other. If you look around you will see a lot athletes with this posture.

Phil Donley is a Hall of Fame Athletic Trainer- is a Consultant to the Philadelphia Phillies for the past 5 years- Has Measured Over 1400 pitchers and is the Author of 12 books and is considered by many including Brent Strom & Ron Wolforth as the preeminent expert in arm care and arm health for pitchers.

He will speak in Houston for the 3rd time at the Ultimate Pitching Coaches Boot Camp. His lectures were enlightening and vitally important if training pitchers/ throwers is your profession.

There are two men that hundreds of Pitching Coaches at all levels of baseball turn to for reasonable and practical assistance with their pitchers. Why do they turn to these two men?

·  These two men are truly more interested in ‘getting it right’ than in ‘being thought of as right’…or in ‘getting credit for being the smartest guy in the room’. They are teachers first. They don’t care who gets credit. They want to help each individual pitcher achieve his dream.  That fact alone means a whole lot to the rank and file coach busting his hump in the trenches every single day…so its no wonder why coaches gravitate to these two men,

·  They are reasonable…approachable…and down to earth. Their instincts are to share and teach and not to hoard, criticize, bloviate or to lecture. They are constant students of the game, continually studying gurus House, Shaw/Thurston (which is therefore Mills), Marshall, Jaeger, Weinstein, Dixon and Nyman. They also are students of experts in other areas such as Gambetta, Odgers, Santana, Versetgan, Ravizza, Hanson, Furey and Donley…just to name a few.

·   They are on the battlefield every day themselves. To these two men, baseball pitching is not theory, a book tour, a DVD sale, marketing or consulting…it is hands on in the dirt and sweat of the pen.

·  They work with the same pitchers day after day…just like you do. They not only understand your universe…they live in your universe...and unlike so many other gurus they are intimately familiar with the common problems YOU are experiencing.

·   They have a proven track record. They have produced Major League pitchers.

·  They have failed and adjusted enough times so they have learned through experience what works and made sure you don’t have to go through the same long trial and error process yourself.

·  They are seasoned, experienced and have been around the block a few times. They will help you cut your learning curve in half.

·  Although they live a 1000 miles away from each other, they are partners. They work together constantly. They act as each other’s check and balances. Their perspectives and backgrounds are very different. And because of that they make a great team. One college coach once quipped, “Strom +Wolforth’ trumps any one of a kind guru.”

Reason #3 you don’t want to miss attending the Ultimate Pitching Coaches Boot Camp in Houston Texas-

Brent Strom & Ron Wolforth

Brent Strom- At the UPCBC, Brent will be discussing the issues of mechanical efficiencies, arm action, pelvic loading, utilization of the spine, the importance of rhythm & tempo, momentum, stored elastic energy and the new distinctions on how to keep a guy healthy which actually fly in the face of so much of the conventional wisdoms out there.

Ron Wolforth- At the UPCBC, Ron will take up the entire first morning outlining his new Combat Pitcher Program™, the crucial role of an intelligent and skill specific wake up/warm up, and 3 brand new distinctions…his Velocity + Command, his NEW Backshaping and his NEW long toss to mound back to long toss circuit.

If I were to send my son to a pitching boot camp I would go no further than Strom and Wolforth.  To have a former MLB Big League pitching coach and coordinator (Strom-Astros-Royals-Expos-Nationals) and one of baseball's most innovative pitching instructors (Wolforth-Pitching Central) in one arena at the same time is unmatched. These guys are two of the main architects of modern pitching.  They are around it everyday.  They teach pitching with an array of experience and the application of sound teaching modalities.

Strom and Wolforth have a peerless understanding of the game of pitching. Not only will you get the best instruction on pitching, but also you will develop personal motivational techniques and ideas about the psychology of winning that will take you to the upper levels.  Expect to be challenged.  Brent and Ron will increase your pitching IQ to the maximum.
